Why We Chose Our Kestrel Valley Vineyard Site
Long before the first vine went in, we walked this stretch of Kestrel Valley at every hour of the day. Morning mist, midday glare, the long gold of late afternoon. The site told us what it wanted to be.
Clay-loam soils drain slowly and ask the vines to work for everything. That struggle is where character comes from — low yields, small berries, concentrated fruit that tastes of exactly one place.
We chose Amberlow because nowhere else felt like this. The valley holds the warmth of the day into evening, the ridges break the wind, and the light here is unlike anywhere else we have grown.
